Fast and efficient hand-held tools
As the internet continues to grow and requires more data storage, larger data centers are needed. Fiber-end contamination, such as from dirt and scratches, is the number one failure point in a fiber cable. The FI-3000 is a tool that will quickly test Multi-fiber Push On (MPO) connections.
Current tool offerings required multiple hands to hold the device. We heard from our customers that there is no need to see a display while testing. We applied this information to the design of the product by removing the bulky display. Instead, we used LEDs to indicate whether a test passed. As a result, the overall form of the product is more compact than the competitors’.
Fiber Inspection App
As software continues to be developed at a faster pace, we needed a better way to update software for our products. The FiberInspector app solves this issue by pairing with a fiber optic inspection camera to separate the physical display from the physical product. The app allows the user to see and test fiber ends and create reports for their clients. In addition, Fluke can update software remotely, so the user does not need to plug the tool in to a computer. This was the first mobile app for the company.
